Privacy policy
This policy explains how Betacarry LLC handles information when you use Wahala World and its connected web game at wahalaworld.com.
Information we handle
- Account details: sign-in identifiers, email, display name, username, verification status, and optional contact information such as a WhatsApp number. Firebase handles Google, Apple and email/password sign-in. With Sign in with Apple you can choose Apple’s Hide My Email relay address. Passwords are processed by Firebase, not sent to the game server.
- Game and community data: avatar choices, progress, virtual balances, purchases, trades, properties, scores, friends, crews, public posts, guestbook entries, direct messages, reports, and support requests.
- Technical and activity data: session and visitor identifiers, browser/device information, connection information, gameplay events, loading and performance measurements, and error reports. Network providers receive IP addresses when serving the game; some security controls use hashes derived from network information.
- Notifications: if you enable phone alerts, we store the push subscription or device token and your notification preferences. You can turn alerts off in the game and device settings.
- Media: content you choose to upload for supported features. Microphone access is requested for voice features; do not enable it if you do not want to transmit your voice to other participants.
- Purchases: order references, amounts, currency, fulfillment status, and payment-provider information needed to process or reconcile purchases. Payment providers handle payment credentials. In the iPhone and Android apps, coin packs are bought through the App Store or Google Play; RevenueCat tells our server which coin pack a random purchase ID bought so the coins reach your account. It does not receive your name, email or username from us.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate accounts, save and synchronize progress, operate multiplayer and community features, deliver requested alerts, process purchases, answer support requests, moderate abuse, prevent fraud, troubleshoot faults, and understand use of the game. Optional contact and notification choices support messages you choose to receive.
Public and private features
Your username, avatar, selected profile information, scores, and public activity may be visible to other players. Direct messages are available to their participants and may be accessed by authorized staff where necessary for safety or support. Contact details are not intended for public profiles or leaderboards. Use available feed privacy, block, report, and mute controls.
Service providers
Cloudflare provides hosting, database, media storage, network protection, and voice relay infrastructure. Google Firebase provides authentication. Web push providers deliver enabled phone alerts. Stripe and Paystack process supported web payments. Apple and Google process app-store purchases, and RevenueCat confirms them. Wahala World shares one Paystack account with VideoSet, another Betacarry service: Paystack payment notifications that do not belong to a Wahala World order are forwarded unchanged to VideoSet’s payment endpoint so that service can complete its own orders. Wahala World order notifications are not forwarded. Providers process information needed to supply their services.
AI guide
The guide asks before it uses AI. Only after you choose Allow & chat does it send typed questions, recent conversation, and selected game context (such as your username and progress) to Google Gemini or Anthropic, depending on the configured provider. You can stop this anytime with Stop using AI in the chat’s info panel; quick questions never use AI. Replies can be wrong. Do not send passwords, payment credentials, or sensitive personal information. The guide masks certain long number sequences, but that is not a guarantee that all personal information is removed. Stored guide messages are subject to a rolling 30-day cleanup in the current implementation.
Measurement and advertising
The web game uses first-party gameplay and performance measurement (visits, load times and errors), which stays with Wahala World and is not used for advertising. We ask before any advertising cookie: the Google Ads measurement tag, which shows us which ads bring players, loads only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. If you choose Decline, or do not answer, no Google advertising tag loads. We remember your answer in your browser for six months. If you accept, Google may receive browser identifiers, cookies, and interaction information under its own policies. Sponsored billboards or other advertisements may appear in the game. Browser settings and Google advertising controls can limit relevant cookies and personalization. The iPhone and Android apps never load the Google Ads tag or any other advertising SDK and never show the cookie banner. Visit measurements are deleted after about 30 days, and those linked to your account are removed sooner if your account deletion is processed first.
Voice and device permissions
Voice is transmitted to participants through WebRTC and may use Cloudflare relay infrastructure. Peer connections can reveal network addresses to participants. We do not intentionally record voice conversations in the current game implementation. Microphone and notification permissions are optional; denying them limits those features. The current game does not request real-world GPS location or your address book for ordinary play.
Retention and deletion
Account and game data are kept while needed to operate your account and the service. Retention depends on the data and its purpose; not all records currently have a fixed expiry. You can request deletion of your account or particular personal data using the account-deletion page. De-identified game records and records necessary for accounting, fraud prevention, safety, or legal obligations may remain. The team must complete both game-profile deletion and Firebase login removal.
Your choices and requests
Use in-game account controls for a data copy or deletion request. Contact betacarryapp@gmail.com to ask for access, correction, deletion, or information about your data. We verify account ownership before fulfilling requests. You can disable notifications and microphone access in device settings, and manage optional communications with the team.
Security and international processing
We use HTTPS and access controls to protect information in transit and restrict access to operational records. No service can guarantee absolute security. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States.
Children and age-restricted features
Wahala World is for players aged 16 and over and is not designed as a children’s service. Players meet and talk with other players in public chat and live voice. Romance features (dating, rings, weddings and babies) need a one-time birth-year check showing you are at least 18; we keep only whether you passed, never the year. The Secret Palace venue asks you to confirm you are at least 18 before entry. There is no gambling or betting in the game, and no real-money cash-out from virtual game currency. Contact us if you believe a child has supplied personal information inappropriately.
